Hybrid work & culture
Are employees more productive working from home?
There is no blanket answer. Studies find different effects depending on the task, equipment and organisation; in the TK study of February 2026, mobile workers on average reported higher self-assessed mental productivity.
For companies, work organisation matters more than a single percentage: suitable tasks, clear goals, functioning equipment and good team coordination. Good equipment is one building block – not automatically the cause of higher productivity.
Losses typically occur at interfaces: unclear ownership, slow decisions, missing informal alignment. That is an organisational problem, not a location problem.
Key points
- Effects depend on task, equipment and organisation
- TK study (02/2026): higher self-assessment among mobile workers
- Interfaces and unclear ownership are the usual brake
