Must psychological strain be assessed for remote work?
Yes. Psychological strain is part of the risk assessment under section 5 ArbSchG. For remote work this concerns in particular blurred boundaries, availability, work organisation and social isolation.
Assessed factors include workload, autonomy, interruptions, leadership behaviour and social relationships. An anonymous survey is a common starting point.
onyo's digital risk assessment can support companies with structured capture, documentation and follow-up. Effective responses are rarely single measures: clear availability rules, meeting hygiene, fixed team days and trained managers work together.
